Parent setup
WakeKids turns morning backup into one calm flow.
Trigger remote wake-up alarms on your child's phone and see when the wake screen is acknowledged in the app.
Free on Google Play. iOS coming soon.
Alarm delivery depends on setup, permissions, connectivity, battery settings, and the phone being powered on.
Morning routine
Mornings, solved.
WakeKids rings on your child's phone every morning and shows you when the wake screen is acknowledged.
Get startedProblem
Normal phone alarms do not give parents enough signal.
Missed alarm
A normal phone alarm can be dismissed before anyone else knows.
Dismissed in one tap
A child can switch off their own alarm half asleep, and nobody else knows.
No confirmation
Parents often need a simple signal that the child interacted with the app.
Solution
A remote wake-up flow with useful motion and clear feedback.
The interface is designed to feel like a calm morning assistant: clear enough for parents, bright enough for kids, and honest about the setup limits.
Remote trigger
Send a wake-up alarm from the parent phone when the routine needs backup.
Full-screen wake prompt
Show a loud wake screen on the child's phone. It plays on the alarm channel, so silent mode does not mute it; other device and system settings still apply.
In-app confirmation
Notify the parent when the wake screen is acknowledged in the app.
Backup expectations
Keep setup, permissions, connectivity, and battery behavior visible.
How it works
Three steps for family wake-up routines.
Pair the phones
Set up trusted parent and child devices before wake-up reminders are needed.
Set or trigger an alarm
Schedule a wake-up reminder or send a remote alarm request when plans change.
Child acknowledges the screen
The child interacts with the wake screen, and the parent receives an in-app acknowledgement notification.
Trust and safety
Built for convenience, with clear limits.
- WakeKids is a convenience tool for family routines, not an emergency or life-safety service.
- Parents should test setup, permissions, sound behavior, battery settings, and connectivity before relying on a routine.
- Families should keep backup routines for school, travel, medication, appointments, or any time-sensitive situation.
Privacy
Family data stays focused on the wake-up feature.
- Minimal data for accounts, pairing, alarms, and app acknowledgements.
- No location tracking for wake-up reminders.
- No ads, profiling, or selling family data.
- Parents control pairing and can request deletion.
FAQ
Common questions before setup.
Does the alarm ring when the phone is on silent?
Yes. The alarm plays on the device alarm channel rather than the ringer, so silent mode does not mute it: on iOS it uses the playback audio session, which ignores the mute switch, and on Android it uses the alarm stream, which silent mode does not affect. Other settings can still stop an alarm from arriving or being heard, including Focus or Do Not Disturb, battery optimisation, revoked notification permissions, manufacturer restrictions, and connectivity. Families should test the setup on their own devices and keep a backup routine.
Can a parent send an alarm remotely?
A paired parent can request a wake-up alarm for a child device after setup is complete. Delivery and behavior depend on connectivity, permissions, device state, and platform settings.
How does pairing work?
The child phone shows a QR code and a six-character code. An authenticated parent scans the QR code or enters it manually, reviews the child-data notice, confirms authority, and completes the connection. QR camera frames stay on the parent phone and are not stored or uploaded.
What permissions or settings are needed?
WakeKids may need notification permissions and device settings that allow alerts to appear at the right time. Some system settings can limit alarms or notifications even after permission is granted.
